Why you should follow your dreams (even in fashion)

Do you remember the cliché saying, “It’s never too late to follow your dreams, and there’s no time like the present to start.”

After I graduated from college, I was working for a prestigious financial firm with billions of dollars in assets. I thought finance and investments were what I was meant to do in life. It’s funny how life works out. There is no right path, no straight path, and no even path, but it (or for those religious folks, god) already knows where you are supposed to end up. Every decision you make leads to another path, opens another door, and presents another opportunity. I (or I should say WE) are still trying to figure it out and that’s okay.

If there’s one thing I learned in life, “Keep doing what feels right. Because without passion and the drive to succeed, there’s no way you will because success IS built on failures.”

So why did I take these pictures?

Because I feel like it represents the notion of making decisions, taking a path in life that has been untouched. I am building a community through fashion and technology.

So, for those who are a bit scared, a bit intimated to take risks, as Nike would say, “Just do it.”

I have a quote for you my #KShotties.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
