“I like to take risks. That’s how I make money. But they are calculated risks,” O’Leary said.

If you don’t know who Kevin O’Leary is, here is a summary link to his outstanding professional resume, from a business owner, venture capitalist, and TV commentator and personality. He has done everything right in the business world.

I was very fortunate to be able to meet him at STK Atlanta last week (Thanks to my favorite Evelyn Mims). He was promoting his new red and white wine, O’LEARY and I must say that it was quite tantalizing and delicious.

Meeting ambitious people like Kevin O’Leary from Shark Tank, Philip Hudson from the Business Chronicle, Christine Newton from Atlanta & Co, and Allison Mitchell from Jezebel Magazine made me realize that life is really about who you know. Being well-educated certainly helps you become successful, but developing those enduring, sincere relationships with the people in the industry that you want to be successful is far more important (in my opinion).

After I started working for KnowStyle, I realized that business is like gambling. You have to take calculated risks in order to increase profit (and sometimes you do end up losing more than you want to).

Fashion is taking risks. Trying on clothes and trends that you normally wouldn’t can either make you feel really confident or really uncomfortable. Either way, how would you know unless you actually “try it on”?

Relationships are taking risks.

"You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with,"Jim Rohn said.

If Jim Rohn says you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with, sit back and ask yourself, is this who I want to be? If not, change yourself to become that you want to be, which means you may have to let go of that long-term best friend who is not the greatest influence on you.

On that note, I have to tell you about my STK outfit! This black lace romper is the most comfortable outfit I wore in a while. I love that it is short because it is the perfect dinner outfit and it doesn't ride up like some of the bodycon dresses sold at KnowStyle. This outfit has a low V-Neck which is very sexy, but I don't really have big breasts, so it wasn't a problem for me. If you are planning on purchasing this outfit and you have bigger breasts, make sure to use double sided tape to keep the outfit in place!
